“The Lost Missle” is a 1958 American science fiction film which was originally slated to be directed by William Berke, who was also executive of the film. The screenplay was co-written by John McPartland and longtime science-fiction writer Jerome Bixby, And starred a young Robert Loggia in the lead role. When William Berke suddenly died on the first day of filming, his son Lester Wm. Berke (who had come up with the original story) took over the direction. This film carried a Cold War-era message of the importance of the work done by scientists and the military in protecting the nation from external threats. The whole world is watching in horror as a strange “missile-like” object from outer space circles the earth at low altitudes, destroying everything in its path. Oceans turn to steam, mountains melt and thousands of people drop dead every minute as this thing from outer hell burns the world alive. This is a very good film and recommended watch for the Sci Fi fans. Starring Robert Loggia, Ellen Parker, And Phillip Pine. 1958 B&W 72 Minutes on DVD-R.
